Student Union

We also highly recommend recommend that you join Melbourne University's Student Union (if you're not already a member, it'll only cost you $49 for semester 2).  Amongst other things they offer a FREE student advocacy service (for both members and non-members) and a great legal service by appointment (free for members, $50 for non-members) to talk about issues such as employment, fines (especially public transport), intellectual property and family law. The legal service also provides referral where needed.

There are also a load of clubs and societies on offer which are well worth a look.
