2010 Graduate Research Scholarship Round
The deadline for 2010 scholarships for local students (Australian and New Zealand) is approaching; potential applicants for the PhD in Law or the MPhil in Law are strongly encouraged to submit a scholarships application before 31 October 2009 in order to be considered for all scholarships available (including the APA). 2010 Teaching Fellowships
Melbourne Law School is again offering Teaching Fellowships for 2010. These prestigious fellowships are available to candidates enrolled in a PhD at the Melbourne Law School. The Law School will appoint up to five Fellows to commence in 2010. The fellowships will include teacher training and mentoring, teaching and admininstrative experience, and full inclusion in the intellectual life of the Law School. 2010/11 Chevening Scholarships
The Chevening Scholarships programme is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in the United Kingdom and administered by the British Council. The programme offers outstanding graduates and young professionals the opportunity to study at UK universities. The awards are made for one year's formal study for a postgraduate qualification or for a shorter period of not less than three months to pursue private study or research at a university or similar institution in the UK. PhD candidates at Australian Universities are invited to apply to undertake three and twelve months research towards an Australian PhD in the UK. Applications close 18 October 2009. Max Weber Fellowships
The Max Weber Programme is Europe’s largest postdoctoral programme in the social sciences. It is funded by the European Commission (DG Education) and hosted by the European University Institute in Florence where the research community of professors, researchers and fellows provides an excellent environment for the Programme.
The Programme offers 1-2 year fellowships for junior post-docs who have received a doctorate in economics, social and political sciences, law or history within the last 5 years and who want to consolidate their research and training in an active multidisciplinary environment before entering the international job market, or who wish to develop their skills in advanced research and academic practice. Fellows are selected on the basis of their research accomplishments and potential, their academic career interests, and the availability of the EUI faculty to provide mentorship. Gaire Blunt Scholarship
The Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia is offering the Gaire Blunt Scholarship to commemorate Gaire Blunt who was a leading competition law practitioner and a partner at Allen Allen & Hemsley (now Allens Arthur Robinson) from 1970 – 2005.
The scholarship is aimed at persons at a junior stage of their career in Australia. To apply for the scholarship lawyers will need to submit a paper on a competition law topic of no more than 10,000 words by 31 December 2009.

Harvard Health Law Post-Doc Fellowships
The Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology and Bioethics seeks distinguished candidates for its 2010- 2012 Academic Fellowship Program. The Academic Fellowship is a postdoctoral program specifically designed to identify, cultivate and promote promising scholars early in their careers. Academic Fellows are selected from among recent graduates, young academics and mid-career practitioners who are committed to spending two years at the Center pursuing publishable research that is likely to make a significant contribution to the field of health law policy, medical innovation policy or bioethics. The fellowships are full-time, two-year residential fellowships starting in the fall of 2010. Fellows devote their full time to scholarly activities in furtherance of their own research proposals. No teaching obligations or opportunities are associated with this fellowship. Fellows have access to the full range of resources offered by Harvard University including a private office, library privileges, appointment fees, health benefits, a research budget, and a stipend of $60,000 per full year.
